This week we wrapped up the first semester! Crazy to think we're half way done with the school year, but we're so thankful for everyone who made it a great one so far. Have a happy & safe winter break!! β
We made it! Itβs winter break! Students and staff have worked so hard this first semester and deserve these next few weeks to rest and relax. We had a jammed packed week of activities and spirit days. We ended the week with a pajama day. We hope everyone has a restful break and enjoys their time with friends and family. We will see students back on January 2nd to finish this year off strong!
Our CIS Choir and Beginning Band students performed recently in their holiday concerts. Great job to our young musicians and their directors Mrs. Bauserman and Mr. Tibbs.
CIS had some guest speakers this week! Fourth grade classes have recently learned about forms of energy. Nick Geswein from Harrison REMC visited to explain how solar energy is transformed into electrical energy. Dr. Seth Ernstberger from Ernstberger Orthodontics also came to speak about dental health and hygiene. Thank you for coming to spend time with our students!
Our recent food drive was a HUGE success! Earlier this week, students helped to load our collection for Harrison County Community Services which totalled over 3,500 pounds! HCCS greatly appreciates the kindness and generosity of our Panther families and staff. Many families will benefit from this collection. Great job, Panthers! πΎππΎ

Good luck to our 5th and 6th grade boys basketball teams! They start their season tonight at home against Paoli.
It's often that one of the underserved populations in school districts are English-language learners; however, thanks to the tremendous work of Dane Carter and Liliana Retama, SHCSC has a thriving ELL program assisting students and their families with college applications, job interviews, class activities and more. ππ½ ππΎ ππΏ To learn more about the work Dane & Liliana do, click here: https://bit.ly/3sxZWyK
