Dual Credit Program

South Harrison has collaborative relationships with outside agencies such as Ivy Tech,Indiana University and Prosser Career Education Center.  Such relationships allow a greater expanse of dual credit offerings and educational programming for South Harrison students that would not typically be possible in such a small school corporation.

What Is Dual Credit?

Dual credit offerings allow a high school student to earn both high school credit and college credit at the same time. College credit is provided by Ivy Tech and IU, many of which are part of the Indiana College Core. With over 45 courses, South Harrison has one of the most expansive dual-credit offerings in the state.

South Harrison offers these courses free of charge thanks to local grants from the Harrison County Community Foundation, allowing our families to save a great deal of money on college tuition.

What Is Indiana College Core?

The Indiana College Core was developed by the public institutions in Indiana in response to Senate Enrolled Act 182 2012. It allows a student who satisfactorily completes an approved program of general education at any public institution to transfer that coursework to another public institution as a block of 30 credit hours towards the general education core requirements.

South Harrison is proud to offer all the required courses for students to earn the Indiana College Core.
