board meeting recap

The South Harrison Community School Corporation is excited to welcome our new associate superintendent, Nathan Freed.

Freed brings an extensive background in education and is no stranger to South Harrison Community School Corporation. He previously served as a social studies teacher at Corydon Central High School for six years, during which he also coached tennis, baseball, and basketball.

After his time at Corydon Central, Freed served as assistant principal at Crawford County Junior-Senior High School for four years. He later became assistant principal at River Valley Middle School before going on to serve as principal at North Harrison Middle School. Most recently, Freed served as the superintendent of North Harrison Community School Corporation for the past three years.

Mr. Freed shared his enthusiasm about returning to the district, stating, “I’m excited to serve a school district with a strong tradition of academic excellence and to collaborate with dedicated educators in supporting the growth and success of all students.”

Freed earned his undergraduate degree in social studies education from Indiana State University, where he would later complete his education specialist degree in 2016. He also earned a degree in secondary administration and supervision from Indiana University Southeast.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Freed back to South Harrison and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our school community.
