This semester's journey through the College & Career Readiness program has been nothing short of inspiring, marking significant strides toward getting our students "future-ready" through our dynamic pathway programs.

The pathway programs at SHCSC have been the heartbeat of our commitment to preparing students for the road ahead. From hands-on experiences to real-world applications, our diverse pathways offer a unique blend of academic and practical learning.

Available pathways for students to pursue are

  • Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources: Agri-Science;
  • Architecture & Construction: Carpentry; 
  • Arts: Band, Visual Arts;
  • Business Management: Business Administration, Marketing and Sales;
  • Education & Training: Education Professions;
  • Health Sciences: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Exercise Science, Pre-Nursing-Certified Nursing Aide, Pharmacy Technician; and
  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Math: Engineering.

This semester, students have been immersed in a spectrum of pathway experiences. Whether it's honing technical skills in our construction classes, diving into the world of healthcare through our medical pathways, or exploring the intricacies of business and entrepreneurship, our students are gaining the tools they need to thrive in their chosen fields.

The College & Career Readiness program is not just about skill acquisition; it's about expanding horizons. Through partnerships with local businesses and community leaders, students have had the opportunity to engage in mentorship programs, internships, and workshops that bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world.

We take pride in the accomplishments of our students. Whether it's a successful project completion, a newfound passion discovered, or a skill mastered, each achievement is a step toward a brighter future. The pathway programs at SHCSC are not just preparing students for a career; they're shaping well-rounded individuals ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

Seniors at South Harrison can earn the Governorā€™s Worth Ethic Certificate. Students who earn this certificate can present it to future Indiana employers to show they possess the soft skills companies want their employees to have: persistence, respectfulness, initiative, dependability and efficiency. Approximately 12 South Central seniors are on track to earn the certificate and 31 from Corydon Central.


As we reflect on the semester gone by, we eagerly anticipate the journeys yet to unfold. The College & Career Readiness program at SHCSC is a testament to our dedication to nurturing the potential within each student and guiding them toward a future filled with possibilities. In the spirit of growth, learning, and preparation, we're excited to continue this journey with our students.
