Last week South Central Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon Week. We had several school-wide activities for students. There were morning announcements about making healthy choices, such as getting at least 10 hours of sleep each night, 45 minutes or more of exercise a day, and that a positive mood was important for good health too!

We also had a “Hugs, Not Drugs” contest. Students could guess how many hug chocolates were in a container. The student who guessed the closest, won the whole container to share with their class! There were two students who tied for 1st place - Bennett Pollison and Jacob Ward.  Congratulations!

Students also signed a pledge to be drug-free, which is now up in the hallway.

Probably the most enjoyed aspect of Red Ribbon Week are the dress-up days.  Students who participated were entered into a daily drawing for Red Ribbon Week prizes!
