📖✨ What’s in a name? Sometimes, it’s the beginning of a great story!
Our 6th graders recently took a short walk to our local cemetery as part of their narrative writing unit. Students searched tombstones for names that sparked their imaginations and then used those names as inspiration to create completely fictional characters.
From there, they imagined what their characters might look like, explored their personalities, strengths, and flaws, and even dreamed up the conflicts their characters might face in a story. ✍️💭
It was a unique way to take writing beyond the classroom and remind students that inspiration for a great story can be found almost anywhere! 📚✨

Our 5th graders have been getting hands-on with matter, physical properties, and physical vs. chemical changes! Through experiments, observations, and lots of scientific thinking, students are discovering what happens when matter changes.
🧠Our classroom has been full of curiosity, discovery, and plenty of “WOW!” moments! 🧠

Kindergarten had such a great day exploring worms! We compared gummy vs real worms to learn about living vs nonliving things, made our own compost bin (“worm hotel”), worked on our fine motor scissor skills to cut newspaper for bedding, made dirt pudding, and practiced our sequencing skills! 🪱
