All parents and students should have received the following email from Principal, Mark Black.
Parents and Students,
I hope all are doing well. I apologize for the length of this email, but I know you all have a bunch of questions, and I will do my best to answer the glaring questions as I see them now.
We do have a member of our school community that has tested positive for the virus. A separate email will go out to students and parents who we know had direct contact with this person, meaning, in the same classroom. Keep in mind, we have been out of school for almost two full weeks, but continue to monitor symptoms and contact your health provider with concerns. I was just informed of this, and the building has been thoroughly cleaned, but given this new information, we will disinfect again.
If you have internet, then all assignments will be on Google Classroom by 9:00 a.m. Monday morning. Parents, have your student show you around the site if you desire to get familiar with it, and students will have no problem communicating with your teacher. For those without internet, a staff member will be in touch with you so we can investigate how to proceed on an individual basis.
If you are having problems with your computer, the Tech Hotline is 812-738-7803. If you need to come in and get a computer or exchange a computer, email me at email@example.com or call the school so I can arrange the exchange.
Our hot spot for the internet is right outside the main door. Door # 4. Signs have been made up to declare the location, but I won’t get them until Monday morning.
There will be somebody in the office from 8:30 to 3:00 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Be assured, I will be here, as well as Mr. Rhoades and the office staff, much more than that, unless we are directed otherwise. You can always contact me by email,or any staff member by email, and most all of us will be monitoring that regularly.
South Central Elementary School will distribute meals to all South Central Students using the car rider pick-up line. CCHS, CES, and HWE are also distribution schools, which you can use as a South Harrison student. Pickup times will be from noon until 2pm at each of the distribution schools. Cars will be able to come to each of these schools on Monday and Thursday each week to pick up meals for any SHCSC student and any person under 18 years of age. Three breakfast and lunch meals will be distributed on Mondays and 2 breakfast and lunch meals will be distributed on Thursdays. ALL MEALS WILL BE FREE OF CHARGE. Our traffic flow plan is to have cars enter in the lower high school entrance, so the line of cars runs along the front of our facility, and not in the highway.
I will periodically check my emails through the weekend. Please contact me with any questions.
Thank you, and be well, ...
Thank you for the update Mr. Black. Thanks to the administration for taking the extra step in having the school cleaned again. I am sure that individual was in more parts of the school than just one classroom and the extra cleaning should put people more at ease.
High school or grade school classroom ? Thank you🙏
