To promote collaboration and allow students greater flexibility South Harrison has its own educational Google domain. This provides staff and students a wide variety of productivity and communication tools that only require an internet connection and access to a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox.
Please note that although this domain is hosted through Google, it is not open to public invitation, and accounts are created through the technology office.
Accessing Google
There are two ways to access the SHCSC Google domain, either through the South Harrison portal or directly through the Google website. Both methods lead to the same services.
South Harrison Portal
The web address to access the South Harrison portal is: http://www.google.com/a/shcsc.k12.in.us
To log in:
- Enter your school Novell account username.
- Enter your password, your lunch pin followed by a zero (If you lunch pin is 39434 then your password is 394340).
- Click the Sign in button.
Google Site Access
To access the South Harrison domain from the Google site begin by going to www.google.com.
- Click the Sign in button.
- Enter your entire Email address e.g. corydon14@shcsc.k12.in.us
- Enter your password, your lunch pin followed by a zero (If you lunch pin is 39434 then your password is 394340).

Create and publish collaborative websites.
As an internet-based productivity suite, Google Docs has five tools for users to create and edit work collaboratively.
This is Google's word-processor. Users can export documents in OpenOffice, MS Word, PDF and HTML formats.
This is Google's presentation creation software. Export formats include PDF and PowerPoint.
The is Google's program for creating spreadsheets, graphs and charts. Export formats include MS Excel, OpenOffice, PDF, and HTML.
Create quizzes, questionnaires, and forms with this application. You can embed or Email the form and all completed forms are saved in a spreadsheet in your Google Docs folder.
Create drawings or add notes and annotations to an existing image with Google's Drawing program. Export your images a PNG, JPEG, or PDF files.
Google Calendar lets you track your assignment due-dates and notify you of class reminders.
This application allows you to upload videos to be viewed by your teachers and peers.
Your teachers will create groups for your class so you can discuss and collaborate online.
